Just My Comments

Well 2015 is here. It seems like I was just celebrating a New Year 2014. I guess what they say is true, “the older you get the faster the years seem to go by!"

2015 will be special for me personally for a couple of reasons. First, 2015 will be my 40th year of making knives. I made my first knife in 1975. I have decided to commemorate this anniversary with a special etch logo on each knife that I make this year. “ 40th Anniversary Knife, 1975 - 2015“.

I will be attending two major knife shows in 2015, The Blade Show in Atlanta and the Guild Show in Kansas City.

All the knives that I will have for these two shows will have the 40th Anniversary logo. If you plan on attending either of both shows, please come by and say hello. I would like to meet you if we haven’t or renew old friendships if we have.

The second reason 2015 will be special for me personally, January 15th will be my last day as an Instructor for American Airlines. After 35 years I have decided to “retire”. It has been one great experience. I have had the pleasure of working with some of the greatest people in the industry. I have trained the worlds Best Pilots over the last 35 years and it has been an honor. I can honestly agree with the old saying, “ If you love your job, you will never work a day in your life.” I have trained pilots on the B707, B727, the DC10 and of course the flag ship of AA, the B777. To me the B777 is the finest airplane flying and with American crews at the controls, well you just can’t get any better.

This means I’ll have more time to work on knives. But I still have a few items on my Bucket List, so maybe not a really “Full Time Knife Maker”. But hopefully I can get caught up on my back log of orders.

Now a few photos. The black & white showing the early days of knife making and one of a new AA Instructor. And some in color, my brother John and I at the 2014 Guild Show, and my "Last class in the B777 Simulator”.
